Week 1 for UT Shear Wave Technicians

This course covers advanced ultrasonic concepts that are outlined in ASNT CP105, which are critical for understanding and performing code compliant Phased Array inspections.

Learn how to:

- Generate and Receive ultrasonic waves in “phased” groups

- Create a Single Group for Manual inspection and Multiple Groups for Automated inspection

- Focus Beams for optimal calibration and resolution using appropriate Focal Laws

Students who complete the course will benefit by having an understanding of the theory, concepts, and capabilities of phased array technology. This formal course is the first step toward receiving ASNT certification using the UT Phased Array technique.
